Sporting Equals at Croydon FC

Croydon FC was delighted to have Sporting Equals based at the clubhouse for 4 weeks. The programme welcomed great speakers including:

Christine Ohuruogu MBE
, a double World Champion, having also won the 400m at the 2007 World Championships, and was a silver medallist at the Olympics in London. She has also won three World championship bronze medals in the women's 4 x 400m relay as part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team.

Annie Zaidi who won the Helen Rollason Award for inspiration at the Sportswomen of the year awards in 2015. Praised by countless sporting stars including David Beckham and Les Ferdinand for being “an inspiration to so many people”.

Dr. Zaf Iqbal doctor at Leyton Orient FC, before he moved to Tottenham Hotspur, where he worked in the teams Academy and then was promoted as the first-team doctor in 2008. In the meantime, he has held the position of Chairman of the FA Medical Society. Liverpool FC doctor then moved to Crystal Palace FC.

SE held great workshops and even managed to get a bit of sailing towards the end of the programme for the participents.

We are the national partner of Sport England and advisors to the Department of Culture Media and Sport. Supported in Croydon by the Croydon Voluntary Action they chose Croydon FC as their base.
